La Joya ISD is updating its transportation system to improve safety, reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. The district has been working with transportation audits and routing technology to modernize an outdated system that has not been fully updated in about 20 years.

The new transportation system will be implemented in phases and is expected to be fully in place for the start of the 2026–2027 school year.
