The La Joya Independent School District Health Services Department will provide a safe and healthful school environment by focusing on prevention and early intervention. Through implementation of an ongoing and effective health education curriculum, we will promote student and staff health safety.
The school nurse takes the leadership role by acting as a liaison between home, school, and community and by promoting an environment of optimal health and wellness that is conducive to learning.
Contacting Health Services:
Injuries and illnesses sometimes occur at school. In the event that your child is seriously injured or seriously ill, LJISD personnel will immediately notify you or your authorized emergency contacts. Have you provided the school with your updated telephone numbers?
2025-2026 Non-Emergency Services
Parents/Guardians,
During the 89th Texas Legislative Session, lawmakers passed Senate Bill 12, which requires schools to get annual parental consent before providing routine health services. This includes services such as first aid or vision and hearing screenings.
In accordance with Senate Bill 12 (SB 12), 89th Texas Legislative Session, and in recognition of your right to direct your child’s medical care, we are requesting your consent for your child to receive non-emergency health services from the campus nurse or other authorized school personnel during the 2025–2026 school year.
A new form has been made available to be filled out in Skyward Family Access. Please complete the form prior to September 1, 2025. See the steps below for completing the form. If you have questions regarding Skyward Access, please reach out to your child’s campus.
2025-2026 Servicios que no son de emergencia
Padres/Tutores:
