  • Support compliance with district policies and applicable labor requirements through accurate records and proper documentation.

  • Strengthen a districtwide culture of responsibility, professionalism, and operational excellence.

By working together and taking ownership of accurate timekeeping, we protect the integrity of our records, support fair and timely compensation, and help La Joya ISD operate at the highest standard. Every punch matters. Every record counts. Accountability begins with each of us.

FAQs – La Joya ISD Kronos Timekeeping

1. Who Is Required to Clock In?

All La Joya ISD employees are required to use the Kronos Electronic Timekeeping System.

  • Non-exempt employees (hourly staff): Must clock in and out at the beginning and end of each workday and for all required lunch breaks.

  • Exempt employees (salaried staff): Must clock in at the beginning of the workday and clock out at the end of the workday.

  • Leaving the workplace: Employees who leave their assigned campus or work location for personal reasons must clock out before leaving and clock back in immediately upon returning.

Accurate punches are the responsibility of every employee and are essential to maintaining complete and reliable attendance records.

2. Why Does La Joya ISD Use Kronos?

Kronos is La Joya ISD’s official system of record for employee attendance and hours worked. It provides the district with a consistent, accurate, and transparent way to manage timekeeping.

Kronos helps the district:

  • Support fair, accurate, and timely payroll processing.

  • Maintain compliance with district policies and applicable labor requirements.

  • Reduce errors, discrepancies, and unnecessary manual corrections.

  • Provide employees, timekeepers, and supervisors with timely attendance information.

  • Strengthen accountability and consistency across all campuses and departments.

Every punch contributes to an accurate timecard—and every accurate timecard helps protect both the employee and the district.

3. What Happens If I Miss a Punch?

If you forget to clock in or out, take action immediately:

  1. Notify your designated timekeeper as soon as the missed punch is discovered.

  2. Provide the correct punch time and any required documentation or explanation.

  3. The correction will be reviewed and submitted to your Principal or Department Head for approval.

  4. Confirm that the correction appears accurately on your timecard.

Employees are responsible for reviewing their timecards and reporting errors promptly. Repeated missed punches, late reporting, or failure to follow proper timekeeping procedures may result in corrective or disciplinary action and may affect the employee’s evaluation.

Accurate timekeeping begins with you. Clock in correctly, review your timecard, and report discrepancies without delay.
