FAQs – La Joya ISD Kronos Timekeeping

  1. Who is required to clock in?
    • All La Joya ISD employees are required to use the Kronos Time Clock system.
      • Non-exempt employees (hourly staff): Must clock in and out at the start and end of each workday, as well as for lunch breaks.
      • Exempt employees (salaried staff): Must clock in at the beginning and out at the end of their workday.
      • Leaving campus: Any employee leaving for personal reasons must clock out and clock back in upon returning.
         
  2. Why does La Joya ISD use Kronos?
    • Kronos is the district’s official timekeeping system, designed to ensure accurate and reliable tracking of employee work hours. It helps:
      • Maintain fair and transparent payroll processing.
      • Ensure compliance with district policies and labor laws.
      • Minimize errors and reduce manual corrections.
      • Provide employees and supervisors with real-time attendance information.
         
  3. What if I miss a punch?
    • If you forget to clock in or out:
      1. Notify your designated timekeeper immediately.
      2. The missed punch will be reported to your Principal or Department Head for correction.
      3. Please note: Repeated missed punches may lead to disciplinary action or impact your evaluation.
