Educational Excellence the Right of Every Student

College & Career Success

What is College, Career, and Military Readiness?

The goal of College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) is to make sure every high school student in Texas is equipped for success after graduation. The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has established specific indicators that students can achieve to demonstrate they are ready for college, a career, or military service. Students who meet any of these CCMR indicators are classified as having “met CCMR.” The CCMR readiness indicators include:

  • Meet criteria on TSIA2, SAT, or ACT (see graphic below for acceptable scores).

  • Advanced Placement (AP) Exam (score 3 or higher).

  • Dual Credit (3 credit hours in math or English OR 9 hours of any other course earned in the fall or spring semesters).

  • College Prep Courses for ELAR and Math (may only be earned in grade 12)

  • Associate Degree: graduate from high school with an Associate Degree.

  • Industry-Based Certification: Earn an industry-based certification and be a completer in a CTE program of study (class of 2026 and beyond).

  • Special Education: Graduate with an advanced degree plan (Grad Codes 34 and 35) and an endorsement or graduate with an IEP and workforce readiness (Grad Codes 54 and 55).

  • Enlist in the U.S. Armed Forces of Texas National Guard (provide a DD4 form).

How do I know if my child is meeting CCMR?

Each high school has dedicated CCMR coaches who work alongside campus administrators and counselors to help every student meet graduation and College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) goals. If your child is not on track to meet one or more of these important CCMR indicators, you will be contacted by the school. Together, we’ll discuss the support and resources available to help your child succeed and graduate ready for their next steps.
