La Joya, TX – La Joya ISD is celebrating a momentous achievement for two of its outstanding educators.
Jaqueline Perez and Sandra Ontiveros were named finalists for Region One ESC’s Regional Teacher of the Year Award – a distinction that recognizes and celebrates outstanding educators who demonstrate excellence in teaching.
Perez, a teacher at Enrique “Kiki” Camarena Elementary, and Ontiveros, a teacher at Dr. Javier Saenz Middle School, were honored at a special celebration held by Region One that recognized the exceptional quality of teachers from across the Rio Grande Valley.
“Being named a Regional Finalist is not a small feat – it is a testament to the heart, dedication and innovation these educators bring to their classrooms every single day,” said Dr. Marcey Sorensen, Superintendent of Schools for La Joya ISD. “We are incredibly proud of their dedication, passion and talent and are honored to have them representing La Joya ISD.”
As regional finalists, Perez and Ontiveros are among the top teachers in the Rio Grande Valley, setting a high standard for their colleagues and students.
