our Mission

The mission of the La Joya Independent School District Special Education Department is to provide a service that offers support, programs, and specialized placements or environments to meet the educational needs of all students. These services are provided to qualifying students at no cost to parents. The primary objective of the Special Education Department is to increase student achievement by providing more educational opportunities and the right to learn alongside non-disabled peers.

FUNdamental event- January 23-25,2024

This event is dedicated to nurturing the development of special education students in both ECSE and Self-Contained settings. Through a spectrum of engaging learning activities, we aim to support and enhance their social interactions, fine motor skills, and gross motor skills.

SPEDTex Resources and Interactive Features

The Special Education Information Center (SPEDTex) provides resources and interactive features for increasing family awareness of disabilities and special education processes, with the goal of improving partnerships between schools and families.
