La Joya, TX - The stage came alive with rhythm, pride, and cultural celebration as La Joya ISD hosted its highly anticipated Conjunto Fest 2026, bringing together students, families, and community members for an unforgettable evening honoring the rich musical heritage of conjunto.
Held on Tuesday, April 14, at the Alejandro “Alex” H. Saenz Performing Arts Center, the event showcased the exceptional talents of students from La Joya High School, Juarez-Lincoln High School, and Palmview High School, each delivering powerful performances that blended tradition with contemporary flair.
Throughout the evening, student musicians captivated the audience with their skill, passion, and deep connection to the cultural roots of the Rio Grande Valley. From classic conjunto sounds to modern interpretations, each performance reflected not only musical excellence but also a shared sense of identity and pride.
“Our students demonstrated an incredible level of dedication and commitment in preparing for this showcase,” said Ruben Adame, Director of Fine Arts for La Joya ISD. “They spent countless hours refining their craft, and it was evident in every performance. Their hard work truly paid off on stage.”
Adame also emphasized the deeper significance of the event, noting that Conjunto Fest goes beyond performance.
“This event is a celebration of our culture and heritage. Through their music, our students are preserving traditions while sharing them with our community in meaningful and impactful ways. We are extremely proud of how they represented themselves and La Joya ISD.”
