Jordan Reyes Athletic Signing

La Joya, TX - Fueled by grit, driven by heart, and guided by an unshakable belief in herself,

Jordan Reyes, a senior at Palmview High School, is officially taking her talents to the next level.

The standout softball pitcher and center fielder for the Palmview Lady Lobos has signed her

letter of intent to play collegiate softball at Texas A&M University - Kingsville, where she plans

to major in Sports Psychology.

Surrounded by family, teammates, coaches, and campus leaders, Jordan celebrated this milestone during a special signing ceremony that reflected not only her athletic success, but the journey that brought her here - one built on long hours, unwavering determination, and a deep love for the game.

“It took a lot of hours of hard work and dedication,” said Reyes. “There were countless times I

wanted to quit because it got so hard, but I kept pushing. I knew that if I kept practicing and

putting my mind to it, I could get to something bigger and here we are!”

That mindset has taken Jordan far. Competing as part of nearly 15 different teams throughout her career, Jordan often stepped in to help teams in need and traveling across the country for

tournaments. Her farthest trip brought her all the way to Florida, where her team claimed a

championship title.

“Any weekend I don’t play outside of the Valley, someone is calling to see if I’m available,” she

shared. “I love being able to help teams and compete at a high level - it’s what keeps me going.”

While Jordan is definitely putting in the work, behind every great athlete is a strong support system, and for Jordan, that has made all the difference.

“The support I’ve received from my family is countless and endless,” she said. “They are always there and I could not do any of this without them.”

Jordan’s dedication has not gone unnoticed. According to her coach, Jessica Cardenas Russell,

Jordan’s impact extends far beyond her performance on the field.

“Jordan has always had a tremendous work ethic,” said Cardenas Russell. “She’s a go-getter who does everything with intention, purpose, and passion. She’s disciplined, motivated, and a great teammate who pushes everyone around her to be better.”

Her journey to Texas A&M - Kingsville began when the Javelinas’ coaching staff took notice of

the talent developing at Palmview High School - especially Jordan.

“The coach from Texas A&M–Kingsville expressed interest in our team last year, and that’s how this all started,” Cardenas Russell explained. “We’ve had several athletes sign from PHS, but it’s always a proud moment. These are the kinds of players who succeed in college because of their dedication to their craft.”

Looking ahead, Jordan dreams of continuing her softball career at the professional level.

“After college, I hope I get the chance to play in the major leagues - that’s a big dream of mine,”

Reyes said. “If not, I’ll continue into sports psychology. I want to help athletes mentally the way

coaches and mentors have helped me.”

La Joya ISD proudly congratulates Jordan Reyes on this incredible achievement and looks

forward to watching her continue to rise - both as an athlete and as a future leader in the world of sports.
