La Joya, TX - The holiday season is a time when kindness shines brighter and communities gather with a purpose. Throughout La Joya ISD, that spirit has been on full display this season through various initiatives that give back to our community. 

Among the efforts to make spirits bright this season, Juarez-Lincoln High School hosted its Gifts of Love initiative - a program rooted in compassion, generosity, and a shared commitment to support families during the most meaningful time of the year. 

Featuring collaboration between students, staff, as well as campus and district leadership, Gifts of Love brought warmth and joy to selected families throughout the Juarez-Lincoln community. 

“Gifts of Love is about connection and learning the importance of serving others,” said Lora Longoria, Principal of Juarez-Lincoln High School. “When our students and staff come together to serve families with compassion and intention, they strengthen trust, build meaningful partnerships and remind our families that they are supported beyond the classroom.” 

Students and staff worked together with one common goal: to ensure families felt supported, valued, and remembered. Families were thoughtfully identified and gifted essential items and heartfelt surprises designed to brighten their holiday season and help ease the challenges that can often accompany this time of year. 

Gifts of Love strongly reflects Priority 4 of La Joya ISD’s strategic plan, Achieving Excellence Together: 2030, which focuses on Community Trust, Unity, and Partnership. By fostering meaningful relationships and responding to real community needs, Juarez-Lincoln High School continues to strengthen trust and reinforce the bond between schools and the families they serve.

As the holiday season continues, Gifts of Love stands as a reminder that the true magic of the season lies in giving with heart. Through compassion, collaboration, and service, Juarez-Lincoln High School is helping build a stronger, more connected community—one gift, one family, and one act of kindness at a time.
