90 LJISD Students Earn AP Scholar Recognitions

La Joya, TX – La Joya ISD is proudly celebrating 90 of its students who were recently recognized by The College Board as AP Scholars for their exceptional performance on Advanced Placement (AP) Exams.  

Consisting of students from the Classes of 2025, 2026, and 2027, the 90 AP Scholar Recognitions mark a 12% increase from last year and highlight the district’s unwavering commitment to preparing every student for success beyond high school.   

Every year, The College Board honors students nationwide who demonstrate mastery in college-level studies. La Joya ISD is empowering students to challenge themselves academically and explore college-level coursework while still in high school through 21 Advanced Placement courses offered across various disciplines.   

“Our AP Scholar recipients represent the heart of what we strive for at La Joya ISD – students who are not only capable but courageous in pursuing academic challenges,” said Anna Marie Calendario, Deputy Chief of Academic Advancement & School Performance. “Their accomplishments reflect the collective effort of dedicated educators, supportive families and a district deeply committed to academic excellence.”   

In line with Achieving Excellence Together: 2030, this recent achievement fulfills priorities two and three within the strategic plan, which focus on empowered graduates and thriving students. The 12% increase in AP Scholar recognitions demonstrates that the district’s investments in high-quality instruction, leadership development and rigorous learning opportunities are creating measurable, meaningful results.
