Annual Punt, Pass & Kick Event Draws Families, Coaches & Community Members

La Joya, TX – Fulfilling core aspects of its strategic plan, La Joya ISD recently hosted its annual Punt, Pass & Kick: Test of Skills event – an exciting initiative for elementary school students to showcase their energy, teamwork and skills in various sports.  

 Held on Wednesday, October 1, across various La Joya ISD high schools, this year’s Punt, Pass & Kick saw the participation of nearly 100 students from different elementary schools, who not only demonstrated their skills on the field but also sported perseverance and camaraderie.  

 

The spirited event brought together families, coaches and community members in an evening filled with encouragement and support. Parents cheered from the sidelines while coaches guided and motivated students every step of the way. 

 

“This annual initiative reflects the best of La Joya ISD – our students’ determination, our coaches’ dedication and the unwavering support of our families,” said Norberto Garza, Physical Education & Health Coordinator. “Students have a blast giving it their all, showing their talent, skills and energy while our coaches inspire growth, teamwork and lifelong learning.”  

 

More than just a sports competition, Punt, Pass & Kick exemplifies La Joya ISD’s commitment to strengthening partnerships between schools and families – a cornerstone of the district’s strategic plan. By engaging students in meaningful extracurricular activities, the district reinforces its mission to nurture well-rounded learners who thrive both inside and outside the classroom.  

 

With another successful year of Punt, Pass & Kick completed, La Joya ISD looks forward to continuing its legacy of excellence by providing opportunities for students to grow, thrive and shine.
