ACE Model Launches at Two Elementary Schools

La Joya, TX – La Joya ISD is taking a transformative step in ensuring student success by implementing the Accelerated Campus Excellence (ACE) initiative at two of its elementary schools – Juan N. Seguin Elementary and Evangelina Garza Elementary.

As designated ACE Campuses, the overall goal is to ensure every child has access to a world-class education through rigorous academics, engaging enrichment and strong community support.

Both schools offer structured enrichment programs with staff focused on analyzing student data and developing engaging lesson plans. Students participate in activities extending beyond the regular school day, while educators receive professional learning focused on effective instruction.

Both campuses have had a very strong start to the new school year, which began with community building and goal setting.

“The momentum and excitement on these campuses is inspiring,” said Dr. Derek Little Chief of Academics & School Leadership. “Every administrator, educator and team member is fully dedicated to the transformational work at these schools and ensuring every student receives education excellence.”

Beyond the incorporation of the ACE model, students and staff returned to refreshed and revitalized learning environments. Both schools unveiled new cafeteria tables, college banners, updated landscaping and Garza Elementary is receiving a full repaint with new flooring scheduled for later this year. These improvements are part of La Joya ISD’s ongoing commitment to creating best-in-class learning environments that inspire and support student success.

“Our teachers and staff are motived, energized and ready for this transformation,” said Eliamar Lopez, Principal at Seguin Elementary. “These ACE Campuses are not only raising the bar for instructional excellence but also setting a powerful example of what’s possible when schools, families and communities come together for children.”

The incorporation of the ACE model aligns with La Joya ISD’s five-year strategic plan – Achieving Excellence Together 2030 – by prioritizing the district’s commitment to empowering graduates by ensuring every student is ready for college, career and life through rigorous academics.

La Joya ISD thanks parents and the community for their support as Garza and Seguin embark on this exciting new chapter. Together, these campuses are paving the way toward excellence, equity and opportunities for all.
