District Employees See 4% Salary Increase in September Paychecks

La Joya, TX – Committed to recognizing and rewarding the dedication of staff, La Joya ISD is proud to announce all district employees will see a 4% salary increase in their September paychecks.

Approved by the La Joya ISD School Board as part of the 2025 –2026 budget, the raise reflects the district’s deep appreciation for its staff’s commitment to students and the community.

“We are deeply grateful for the unwavering commitment our employees display every day,” said Mirgitt Crespo, Chief of Business Finance and Administrative Services, in a letter to staff on Friday. “This raise is a celebration of excellence and the positive impact our staff make each and every day.”

For teachers, nurses and librarians, the 4% increase is applied to their base salary. Additionally, teachers will receive compensation through Texas’ House Bill 2 – a law now providing funding for teacher pay raises based on experience and district size.

For all other staff, the 4% increase is based on the midpoint of a position’s pay grade outlined in last year’s compensation plan.

New employees’ pay already reflects the updated 2025 – 2026 salary structure, so no adjustments are needed.

Because the raise is effective retroactively, staff will receive a one-time payroll adjustment for pay periods before September.

To further help staff understand the compensation plan, as well as offer transparency and clarity, La Joya ISD has launched several resources, which can be accessed on the district’s payroll webpage.

“La Joya ISD is committed to fair, transparent compensation for every member of our team,” said Crespo. “The professionalism, passion and purpose of our staff drive the success of this district and this raise is one way we can say ‘thank you’ for your dedication.”

This raise represents more than just numbers on a paycheck. It’s a reflection of the district’s commitment to fair and transparent compensation and a celebration of the professionalism, passion, and purpose that fuel La Joya ISD’s success.

To every employee—thank you for the difference you make every day. This raise is for you!
