Seguin Elementary Educators Prepare for New Academic Year

La Joya, TX – The energy is high and the enthusiasm is unmistakable as La Joya ISD’s Accelerated Campus Excellence (ACE) schools – Juan N. Seguin Elementary and Evangelina Garza Elementary. Each campus, this week, officially kicked off preparations for a new academic school year.

Educators from each campus attended a series of in-service days that focused on analyzing student data, developing impactful lesson plans and aligning instructional strategies.

“These efforts are about more than just preparing,” said Eliamar Lopez, Principal at Seguin Elementary. “These sessions reflect our commitment to intentional teaching and meaningful outcomes for every student.”

Beyond planning and collaboration, teachers also got some inspiration from Dr. Marcey Sorensen, Superintendent of School for La Joya ISD. Dr. Sorensen spoke directly to ACE staff, emphasizing the significance of leading with purpose, fueling passion for teaching and placing student success at the heart of everything.

"The energy within these ACE schools is already incredible,” says Dr. Sorensen. “It is clear that these educators are not only ready – they are all in! That motivation is what will reflect onto students and continue our district’s legacy of educational excellence.”

We wish all educators luck in this new academic year that is sure to be filled with growth, inspiration and achievement as we continue our Legacy of Excellence at La Joya ISD.
