Principal leaderhip meeting

Designed to support and develop campus leaders, La Joya ISD’s annual Principal Leadership Academy kicked off on Monday, July 28, with intensive training sessions and workshops.

The two-day academy focuses on enhancing leadership skills, fostering a student-focused approach and promoting data-driven decisions to enhance student achievement throughout the district.

The leadership development workshops aim to equip principals, assistant principals and administrative leaders with the tools and strategies necessary to effectively lead their campuses and contribute to the overall success of students.

“We have principals and assistant principals coming together to really build our shared focus this school year,” says Dr. Derek Little, Chief of Academics & School Leadership for La Joya ISD. “This is a time where we get to invest in them as campus leaders and develop their leadership capacity around what matters most – quality instruction.”

With a focus on instructional framework as well as lesson structure and how it relates to a great learning experience, the Principal Leadership Academy showcases effective leadership in action and drives positive results for students and teachers.

La Joya ISD is proud to welcome back all of our principals, assistant principals and administrative leaders for what is sure to be another successful school year.
