La Joya, TX – La Joya ISD is proudly celebrating its very own Coach Manuel "Ricky" Garcia after he was named The Monitor’s 2025 All-Area Co-Coach of the Year.
The Palmview High School baseball coach led the Lobos through an extraordinary season with an undefeated run through District 30-5A, securing a fourth consecutive district championship with a 26-10 overall record and a 16-0 mark.
Beyond that, under Garcia’s leadership, the Lobos also made program history by reaching the regional final round of the state playoffs for the first time.
“We are incredibly proud of Coach Garcia and all that he and the team have accomplished this season,” said Joe Peña, Executive Director of Athletics for La Joya ISD. “His leadership, passion and commitment to our athletes is an inspiration across the district.”
