At La Joya ISD, the safety of our students, staff, and community remains a top priority. In alignment with our ongoing commitment to fostering safe and secure learning environments, we have partnered with Region 1 Education Service Center to conduct our District-wide Safety and Security Audit.
This partnership ensures an objective, thorough, and transparent review of our safety practices, reinforcing the trust placed in us by our families and community. As required by Texas Education Code 37.108, all school districts must conduct safety and security audits of their facilities at least once every three years, with results reported to the Texas School Safety Center (TxSSC).
We are pleased to share that La Joya ISD has already begun the scheduling and planning phase for this important initiative. Site visits will commence in August, covering all instructional and non-instructional buildings across the District. This comprehensive review will assess emergency protocols, facility security measures, and campus safety practices to ensure we are providing the safest possible learning and working environments for both students and staff.
By proactively engaging in this process, La Joya ISD continues to demonstrate its commitment to operational excellence, student well-being, and public accountability.
Together, we will continue to prioritize safe campuses where our students and staff can thrive.
