In June, La Joya ISD launched its first Pre-K Boots on the Ground Campaign, a districtwide effort to increase early childhood enrollment through face-to-face neighborhood outreach. This initiative was designed to support families who had expressed interest in Pre-K but had not yet enrolled—bridging the gap with personal connection and on-the-spot assistance.
Using student data and PK interest surveys, outreach teams identified under-enrolled campuses and surrounding neighborhoods—including areas near Cavazos, Perez, Leo, Flores, Escandon, Garza, Gonzalez, and Paredes. From June 16–26, teams walked door-to-door equipped with bilingual scripts, flyers, door hangers, and QR codes to document outcomes. Their mission: to build trust, answer questions, and promote La Joya ISD’s free, high-quality, bilingual Pre-K programs for 3- and 4-year-olds.
The campaign directly aligned with the district’s strategic pillars of Visibility, Accessibility, and Personal Connection, and advanced key campus improvement goals related to student readiness and family engagement.
Thanks to the dedication of our central office and campus staff, the campaign led to increased enrollment and strengthened community relationships—an inspiring step forward in ensuring that every child receives a strong start at La Joya ISD.
