Dr. Saenz Middle School Students Advance to State Science Fair 

Dr. Javier Saenz Middle School 8th grade students, Carter Ponce, Jose Alejandro and Christian Rosas competed at the 63rd annual Regional Science Fair held at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley on February 18th, 2023.  Their project “Bionic Eye” captured the attention of several judges leading them to win 1st place in the category of Embedded Systems in the Junior Division and The Office of Naval Research Special Award.  These students are now advancing to State Science fair on March 25th 2023 which will be held at the University of Texas A & M College Station  

Among other students who participated in the Regional Science Fair, placing 4th in the category of Biomedical Engineering Junior division were 8th grade students, Pedro Vargas, Juan de Hoyos and Alvaro Torres.
