🎉 Zapata Elementary 4th Graders Celebrate Reading Achievement! 📚 Kudos to the 4th grade students at Zapata Elementary for reading the most books during the Read Across America kick-off! As a reward, they received a small treat to celebrate their love of reading. Mrs. Lumbreras, the school librarian, is proud of their hard work and encourages all students to keep up the great reading habits throughout the year. Zapata Elementary kicked off Read Across America in a big way with a special guest, Ms. Tamara Albury, Deputy Chief of School Leadership! She joined Mrs. Lumbreras, our librarian, for a fantastic read-aloud session with our 2nd grade class, reading Oh, the Places You'll Go! by Dr. Seuss. Ms. Albury also visited classrooms in PK, 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades, where students had the chance to interact, share, and get moving during the readings. It was a day full of fun, books, and excitement.
