Today, our students had the opportunity to visit the University of Texas at San Antonio and the Alamo as part of our College Tours. The students learned about the variety of programs offered by UTSA and got to explore the campus. These events are a part of helping our students determine their post-secondary academic futures.

Students and staff gathered in the Student Union this morning to say farewell to longtime @LaJoyaISD Police Officer Robert Ruiz. Ruiz has been the officer on our campus for many years and will be taking a job with Hidalgo County.
Ruiz was known for his friendly and helpful demeanor. He was always willing to go the extra mile to help students and staff feel safe and secure on campus. He has always had a great rapport with students and staff alike. He will be missed but we wish him all of the best in his new job!

⏰ Friendly Reminder! There will be NO CLASSES on Friday, November 3rd, 2023, we will have an In-service Day for staff. Classes will resume on Monday, November 6, 2023.
STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: Today we recognize Sophomore student, Arleen Sosa. Arleen is a dedicated student and involved in many activities. She has been the class Social Officer for two school years, and recently earned a crown. She was named the 2023 Sullivan City Queen of Sunshine.
Arleen says that she is happy to have the opportunity to represent her community. "Representing Sullivan City gives me the chance to honor and admire my hometown. It also gives me an opportunity to be a role model to other children in my community and show them anything is possible."
We are proud of Arleen for her accomplishments both inside and outside the classroom. She and all of our students are a part of the future and we are sure they will continue to do great things!
