This past Saturday, our 7th and 8th grade boys and girls from De Zavala Middle School kicked off the Track & Field season with an outstanding performance! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ From the first race to the final event, our student-athletes competed with heart, determination, and pride. Their hard work and commitment were on full display, and we couldn’t be more proud of the way they represented our school. This is just the beginning for Coyote Track & Field. Keep pushing, keep improving, and keep competing.

What a way to close the season! ⚽🔥 Our 8th Grade Lady Coyotes finished strong with a 1–0 victory over Irene Garcia MS in their final game of the year! Hard work, discipline, and heart were on full display from start to finish. We are so proud of these young ladies for their commitment and teamwork all season long. A huge thank you to Coach Peña and Coach Rodriguez for their dedication, leadership, and steady encouragement. Your investment in these girls goes far beyond the field. 🎉 Congratulations to all our competitors at Saturday’s La Joya High School TMSCA Qualifier! We are proud to announce that 6 of our students qualified for State, and many more were just a few points away! Your hard work, dedication, and commitment are paying off. 💪📚 Shoutout to our amazing coaches for leading the team to 2nd Place Teams in Math, Number Sense, and Calculator Applications! 👏 We still have two more qualifying meets ahead to keep preparing and pushing toward even more State qualifiers. After a tough semi-final match that came down to sudden-death penalty kicks, our 8th grade girls soccer team bounced back with determination and won their 3rd-place match to bring home a well-earned trophy and podium finish at this weekend's tournament. The Lady Coyotes wrap up their season Monday at home as they host Garcia MS — come out and support them as they finish strong! ⚽🔥

They do it again! 💪🏀 A big congratulations to the 8th Grade Boys Light Team for taking 3rd place at today’s McAllen tournament. After a challenging first game, the team responded in a big way—closing out the final with a clutch buzzer beater to earn the podium finish. The 8th Grade Dark Team battled through the consolation bracket, picking up a first-round win before falling in the final. Strong effort from both squads as they keep building momentum heading into the rest of the season.

🔥 Barn Burner Alert! 8th Grade Light Team Wins 18–17 Over Liberty MS Hustle. Heart. Teamwork. The 8th grade Light team left it all on the floor, battling to the final buzzer for an exciting 18–17 win over Liberty Middle School. Relentless effort on every possession set the tone as the boys now head into this weekend’s tournament ready to build on the momentum. Proud of the fight—let’s keep it rolling! 🏀🔥

Reminder! 📣 Join us this Saturday for the Middle School GT Innovators Workshop at the Planetarium from 8:00 AM–12:00 PM. Students will enjoy hands-on STEAM activities, LEGO robotics, and a drone flying session. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. We look forward to seeing our GT students ready to explore, create, and innovate!
