Teamwork makes learning fun! Students in Miss De Leon First Grade class participated and enjoyed the “Race to the Sum” game.





Students in Mrs. Gonzalez’ first grade class are working on their math facts and applications for the day. Using manipulatives, students work with their partners or triad to solve and justify their math problems.

Students in Mrs. Bermea’s second grade class celebrated Dr. Seuss Week by reading his books, creating activities, and incorporating writing. Students read The Cat in the Hat Comes Back. They wrote about what they would do if the Cat in the Hat came to their home. Students discussed the power of making the right choices. They also put in practice their measurement skills to create Cat in the Hat hats. The students ended the day with a little sweet treat.

What an incredible 30 days it has been here at La Joya ISD! In such a short period of time, I’ve had the privilege of learning so much and meeting many of you. I have discovered that we have wonderfully talented and dedicated students and educators here in La Joya ISD and that we have a lot of work ahead of us. I have no doubt that with dedication and hard work, we will ensure our district builds on the strong foundations that already exist in order to exemplify excellence and continue to share out what we learn, transparently. Students in Mrs. M. Pena’s 5th grade class have been updating their data wall after the Benchmark. Students get to see what Tier they are under and understand how much they need to work to get to Tier 1. The goal is for all students to be in Tier 1!







🎉 Students in Mrs. Pulido's Kindergarten class had a blast reviewing subtraction with Quizizz! 📚💡 It was an engaging and interactive way to reinforce math concepts. From timed challenges to leaderboard excitement, every question sparked enthusiasm and kept everyone on their toes. Plus, the instant feedback feature helped students learn from their mistakes and improve their skills in a fun and supportive environment. Who knew subtraction could be this much fun? 🚀🔢
