La Joya ISD Student Receives a Full-Ride Scholarship to Yale University

La Joya -- a La Joya ISD senior student has been accepted to an Ivy League University

with a full-ride scholarship and moving expenses.

Senior Christian Martinez from Juarez-Lincoln High School has been accepted to Yale

University. Student will receive full-ride QuestBridge National College Match Scholarship.

Martinez has acquired numerous accolades during his high school career. Many of which

have been attending a 7 week program at Harvard University this past summer, where students

were able to take two college courses at an Ivy League University.

“Thank you to La Joya ISD and to all the opportunities this district offers to all students,”

stated Martinez. “I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to attend a district that prepares

students well for any college or university we decide to attend. La Joya ISD has given me so

many opportunities to achieve my dreams, and this is my biggest one.”

Martinez has been valedictorian for the past 3 years and currently holds the Valedictorian

position for the Juarez-Lincoln Class of 2020. Martinez current major is Astrophysics at Yale

University in New Haven, Connecticut.
