Pupil Attendance and Records Retention
Welcome to La Joya ISD!
The Office of Admissions and Records is the first stop for new families moving into our school district and for current families wanting to enroll their Pre-K children. Our dedicated and well trained office staff will provide expeditious and courteous service to new students entering our district so that the instructional process can begin immediately and increase student achievement.
Parents/Guardians registering new students must present the following information at the time of registration:
- Parent/Guardian ID (For example: Valid driver’s license, Texas ID, Birth Certificate, Resident Alien Card)
- Child’s original Birth Certificate
- Child’s Social Security Card
- Child’s Immunization Record (Must be up to date)
- Proof of Residence (Only the latest light, water, gas, cable, waste management, telephone (cell phone), or Direct TV bill under either parents name showing the physical address will be accepted. If the bill is not under the parents name, then a notarized letter stating the physical and mailing address will be accepted.)
- Withdrawal forms from previous school district; report card showing promotion status; high school transcript
- Income Verification (For Pre-K only) Income verification is only done for state reporting purposes. It does not affect enrollment into the Pre-K program.
- Please adhere to the above requirements in order to avoid delays in the registration process. Guardians must present the proper court ordered guardianship papers or temporary guardianship notarized letter.
Re-entry students (students who transferred out of the district and are coming back to La Joya ISD) must present the following at their zoned campus:

Records
The Office of Admissions and Records is also responsible for housing the graduate and inactive student permanent records as well as inactive district-wide records as per the state’s records control schedule. Our personnel works closely with universities, colleges, school districts, employment companies, attorney’s offices, state and federal government agencies as well as the entire district that requests records.
Transcript Request
Any graduate from 2013 and before that needs a certified copy of their high school transcript must come to the Office of Admissions and Records. You must present an ID and there is a fee of $1.00. If you are calling from out of town, you will need to fax in a request showing your ID, the year you graduated, a telephone number, the exact address of where you would like your transcript to be mailed and the reason you need the transcript. Non-graduate transcripts may also be obtained from this office.
Note: High School graduate records are kept for 2 years at each high school before they are sent to Admissions and Records for retention.
