La Joya ISD would like to congratulate 10 of its students that were named DEAM US Scholars. This awards each student a total of $29,000 in scholarship money to be used in a period of 4 years. The DREAM US Scholarship has been awarded to Karen Lozano (JLHS), Dulce Cisneros (JLHS), Omar Izaguirre (JLHS), Nicanor Hernandez (JLHS), Diana Vera (JLHS), Liliana Perez (JLHS), Eva Aleman (JLHS) , Maria Aguas (JLHS), Sofia Moncayo Garcia (PHS) and Emy Covarruvia all attending the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

This scholarship is designed to help students complete their education without having to worry about the financial part of it. DREAM US Scholar partners with over 70+ colleges whose leaders are committed to addressing the barriers and challenges DREAMers face in getting into and through college.
Through a rigorous selection process from 200 applicants to 20 selections made by The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, La Joya ISD received 10 awards to Scholars who have demonstrated the ability to succeed in college and in life.
