LJHS Migrant Senior Amongst 6 Chosen in Nation

La Joya High School student Nathan Gonzalez, the son of Mr. Florentino and Maria Gonzalez.  Nathan is the recipient of the Albert Lee Wright Jr. Memorial Migrant National Scholarship.  He is the first student from La Joya ISD to ever receive this prestigious award.  Out of 170 applicants 6 were chosen nationally and we are extremely honored to have Nathan be amongst these six.  

On May 2ndhe will be recognized at the National Migrant Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana.  Nathan will be attending the University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley majoring in Mechanical Engineering.  Nathan, on behalf of La Joya ISD we want to thank you for working hard to represent your family, your district, but most importantly yourself. 

We would like to take this time to wish you the very best of luck in your future endeavors and continue to fight for what you so much desire, and remember that at La Joya ISD you will always have a home.  (Parents if you are in the audience please stand and be recognized) (Mrs. Santos, Migrant Strategist, will you please stand and be recognized-thank you for doing what you do for our migrant students.)
