The Notice of Grant Awards ( N.O.G.A.s ) for the Governor’s Educator Excellence Continuation Grant, Cycle 2, arrived on 10/24/2007 for Ann Richards Middle School, La Joya High School and Memorial Middle School. The total amount of monies received is as follows:

1)  La Joya High School                         $220,000

2)  Ann Richards Middle School              $135,000

3)  Memorial Middle School                    $135,000

The purpose of the Governor’s Educator Excellence Award Continuation program is to provide a system of financial incentives to award educators who demonstrate the ability to motivate students to achieve higher levels of academic performance.  Grants will be awarded based on the percentage of economically disadvantaged students and high levels of growth in student achievement.

The goals of this program are to create a financial incentives system for educators and to increase student academic achievement.

The Project Period is from August 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008.

The last day to submit an amendment to T.E.A. for this project is 90 days prior to the ending of the grant. TEA will not process or approve an amendment received after that date.
