Important Announcement from Dropout Prevention Department

Students in grades 7th through 12th must return to school during the first day of school and September 28, 2007 in order for them to be counted as returning students. Students that do not meet this deadline will be reported as a "dropout" according to a new law that went into effect for the 2006- 2007 school year. (Senate Bill 186, law passed in 2003).

Alumnos en grados 7 al 12 necesitarán regresar a la escuela durante el periodo de tiempo del primer dia de clases y el dia 28 de Septiembre del 2007 para asegurar que sean reportados como alumnos que regresaron a clases. Alumnos que no logran reportarse a la escuela durante este periodo, serán contados como "dropouts" (alumno que abandonó el estudio) según la nueva ley (Senate Bill 186, ley pasada en 2003) que fue aprobada el año escolar de 2006-2007.

 The Dropout Prevention Office will continue to coordinate efforts with the District Truancy Officer, PEIMS Specialist, Coordinator of Parental Involvement, Director of Migrant Services, Coordinator for Guidance and Counseling, Shared Academic Advisor, District Social Workers, Student Assistance Program , GEAR UP Program, Communities in School Program and other resources made available, in order to address and decrease the number of students from dropping out of school.

 The Dropout Prevention Office will participate in the trainings and workshops necessary for professional growth, awareness and implementation.
