Career Goals: dreams of becoming a Veterinarian

Fifth grader, Daniela Flores is this week’s La Joya ISD Scholar of Success chosen by her campus as “the epitome of an excellent student”. She portrays an abundance of positive attitude while in school and at home.

Daniela is the current President of the Ambassador Club at Leo J. Leo Elementary where she is involved in leading fundraisers to help out her school and her community. She is also Leo Elementary’s Top reader, an honor roll student, and is responsible for saying the morning announcements every day.

Her teachers describe Daniela as the type of student who maintains good grades, is quiet, unique, confident, strong willed, and never gives excuses.  Daniela motivates her peers and is a role model who goes above and beyond to be an example for other Leo scholars. “I love that my teachers push us to our limits and make sure that we always meet our goals,” she stated.

While at Leo J. Elementary, Daniela actively participates in UIL Spelling, Calculus, Number Sense, Reading, Writing, and Math. She is also involved in extra-curriculum activities including the Book club and the school’s Folklorico group, “Herencia de mi Tierra”. Her love of animals is the reason she plans to attend Yale University to study to become a veterinarian.

Outside of school, Daniela loves to spend time reading and enjoys singing in her church choir or participating in plays. She is a self-proclaimed “girl-power” supporter and states: “I look up to women who have accomplished things and are successful in life.”

… for these and many attributes, La Joya ISD recognized Daniela Flores as a La Joya ISD Scholar of Success.
