Irene M. Garcia, a retired educator from La Joya ISD and Hidalgo ISD, has been a lifelong advocate of education. By serving as a teacher and a principal, Mrs. Garcia has been instrumental in promoting educational excellence to thousands of students who have attended the two respective districts. Garcia, who is serving on the Board of Trustees for the second time, takes pride in being the voice of the employees and students in La Joya ISD. Before elected to serve on the La Joya ISD School Board, Garcia was also elected to serve on the South Texas College Board of Trustees, and represent District 2, which include the cities of La Joya, Palmview, Mission and Hidalgo. Mrs. Garcia says her biggest goal is to make sure every student has the right to receive a quality education at La Joya ISD.
Mrs. Irene Garcia is married to Jorge Garcia, and she has one daughter, Debra. The Garcia's have two grandsons. |
