Esperanza “Espie” Ochoa, a native of Palmview, joined the La Joya ISD School Board as an advocate for reading. As a current Statewide Coordinator for the University of Texas-Austin Institute of Public Services, and former teacher at La Joya ISD, Ms. Ochoa prides herself in helping teachers obtain the necessary resources to teach the students of La Joya ISD.
As a board member, Ms. Ochoa says her role is to help facilitate the district’s goals along with her colleagues that sit on the board of trustees. Ms. Ochoa obtained a Bachelor in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Minor in Bilingual Education at the University of Texas-Pan American, and also obtained a Masters in Education and Leadership, with the main focus being on reading. |
La Joya ISD will create a nurturing environment that encourages every student to reach their highest potential.
