HOPE Academy’s basketball team conquers the P.A.L. / D.R.I.B.L. Championship

A basketball team composed of students from HOPE Academy and West Academy defied all odds and became the 2016-2017 P.A.L. / D.R.I.B.L. CHAMPIONS.

After a long season of playing against six of the toughest Rio Grande Valley D.A.E.P.s, HOPE Academy-“Home of the Wild Pack”-won the championship for the first time ever. This is only the second year HOPE Academy participates in the P.A.L. / D.R.I.B.L. League. In their first participation HOPE Academy placed a hard earned and well deserved third place.

HOPE Academy was able to defeat Sharyland, Donna, Ballew, PSJA, and Edinburg. Having lost only to McAllen was enough for HOPE Academy to earn first place. Recognition is due to all students that participated in the team and Head Coach Mr. Noel Martinez and Assistant Coach Mr. Alex Ramos.
